Welcome To Our Church!

Thank you for visiting with us through the internet. I hope you will get to know us a little better as you travel through the different areas and links that we offer. Let me be the first to invite you as my guest. We are a friendly, loving and caring congregation that welcomes all people, from all walks of life. Our ministry is defined by our simple mission statement - "Love God...Love People."  At First Church, we try to help everyone find the real HOPE that can make a difference when those troubles come.

I hope to see or hear from you soon! God bless you.

Richard J. Rusnak - Pastor

Pastors Perspective

I have been entriqued by a show on TV called "Doomsday Preppers."  It is amazing to what extent some people have gone to make sure that when the end of the world, as we know it comes, they will be able to survive and go on living.  There are countless thousands of dollars being spent to build bunkers for storing supplies as well as bunkers for families to live in.  Read more...
  • Christianity Is Not Based on Works We can’t be saved by our works, but are saved only by His completed work on the cross.  We are to put our trust in what He did for us in order to get to heaven, instead of putting our trust in what we can do for Him.  He paid the penalty of our sins in full by becoming our Substitute, taking our sins upon Himself that He might cleanse and forgive us through His shed blood. Man Was Created In The Image Of God

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,a and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

    • Salvation makes us members of the body of Christ. We believe that the church is composed of every person who has accepted Jesus Christ as Savior. We enter into the life of the church, not by joining a denomination or a human organization, but by committing our lives to Christ.
    • The body of Christ is one, here and now. We believe that God calls all Christians to live in unity and peace. While Christians may not agree on all things, we can embrace the spirit of Christ in caring concern for one another. Jesus is our common foundation, and love is our only creed!
    • All members of the body of Christ are to live a holy life. We believe that God's standard of life for all Christians is one of moral purity and godliness, to live as Christ. As God's people, we represent Christ in this world.

In addition to these beliefs, we embrace these core biblical values:

    bible6

    • The Lordship of Jesus Christ. There is one Lord, God's Son, Jesus Christ, over the church, so Christ is the church's ultimate authority in all things.
    • The Great Commission. Each of us is called to fulfill Matthew 28:18–20, making fully devoted followers of Christ—disciples—who will then teach others to follow him.
    • The Great Commandments. We are called to fulfill Matthew 22:37–39, not only loving God with our entire being, but also loving all that he loves.
    • The Holy Spirit's Work. God's Spirit equips believers with unique gifts that enable us to carry out the mission of Christ in the world. At the same time, the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in every believer (Galatians 5:22–23), which demonstrate the Spirit's presence within us.
    • Stewardship. All of life is to be used for the honor, glory, and service of God.
